Review 1: MC Toys M-035 1/6 scale SAS CRW (1987-2000) 12-inch action figure (Luke Evans)

The SAS CRW (Special Air Service Counter Revolutionary Warfare) was formed in 1975 after Prime Minister Edward Heath asked the Ministry of Defence to prepare for any possible terrorist attack similar to the massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. SAS CRW is trained in Close Quarter Battle (CQB) and sniper techniques and specialises in hostage rescue in buildings or on public transport.

In 1980 the SAS were involved in a hostage rescue during the Iranian Embassy Siege in London. The two SAS teams on-scene — Red Team and Blue Team — were ordered to begin their simultaneous assaults, under the codename Operation Nimrod, at 19:23 on May 5 after negotiations failed. The raid lasted 17 minutes and involved 30 to 35 soldiers. The terrorists killed one hostage and seriously wounded two others during the raid while the SAS killed all but one of the terrorists. The SAS raid, codenamed "Operation Nimrod", was broadcast live at peak time on a bank holiday Monday evening and was viewed by millions of people, mostly in the UK, making it a defining moment in British history. I remembered watching the footage on the news and from then on, the SAS, a regiment that was largely unknown at the time owing to the covert nature of its operations, was thrust into the public eye.

Here's the MC Toys M-035 1/6 scale SAS CRW (1987-2000) 12-inch action figure stripped of his pigskin suede assault vest and Bulletproof Vest, wearing what's supposed to be Nomex coverall which is flame resistant and Abseil Harness plus Leather Boots

The back velcro on the coverall is meant to hold the hood in place

The MC Toys M-035 SAS CRW 1/6 scale head sculpt resembles that of Luke Evans, a Welsh actor and singer who got his breakthrough role in Hollywood starring in 2010's "Clash of the Titans" remake, playing Apollo. Following his debut, Evans was cast in action and thriller films such as Immortals, The Raven and played Aramis in the 2011 revamped adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

In the 2013 American action film "Fast & Furious 6" (alternatively known as Furious 6 or Fast Six), Luke Evans plays Owen Shaw: A former Special Air Service soldier now leading a heist gang.

MC Toys M-035 1/6 scale SAS CRW (1987-2000) 12-inch action figure almost complete with pigskin suede assault vest and Aircrew Release Knife, Leather Belt, drop-down Leather Pistol Holster, drop-down MP5 triple magazine pouch and double pistol magazine pouch

Close-up picture of the MC Toys 1/6 scale SAS pigskin suede assault vest with Aircrew Release Knife. The Aircrew Release Knife was designed to act as a harness release knife, used to cut seat or parachute harness straps in the event of crash or other emergency. Its concave razor sharp blade can slice through tough webbing straps without danger to underlying clothing or body parts. The SAS troopers stitch this item to their assault vest for use in case of snagging of Abseil (Rappel) lines. During the 1980 Iranian Embassy raid, one of the assaulters had become entangled in his rope and could not cut himself loose.

Cable Ties are used to restrain prisoners quickly without the need for cumbersome handcuffs

The MC Toys 1/6 scale leather boots are very nicely done and stitched
